Introduction
Urban Residence forms the new center for upscale living in Panama City's growing skyline. The architecture responds to the unpredictability of tropical climate with maximum flexibility and natural ventilation.

Context
The development needed spaces that enable both private retreat and social connection. The requirements change with Panama's wet and dry seasons. The urban design concept called for integration with the existing financial district.

Concept
The building is based on a modular grid that allows various apartment configurations equally well. Circulation zones and service shafts are arranged so that spaces can be reconfigured without structural intervention.

Implementation
The precast concrete structure allows for large spans. The facade of prefabricated aluminum elements integrates operable ventilation elements and external sun protection. Building services are conceived as visible installation.
