Eco Resort Osa represents the future of sustainable hospitality in one of the world's most biodiverse regions. The architecture responds to the sensitive ecosystem with minimal footprint construction and natural building materials.
The resort needed to enable both luxurious guest experiences and genuine environmental stewardship. The requirements demanded zero net impact on the surrounding primary rainforest. Local permitting required extensive environmental impact studies.
The buildings are based on a modular timber system that allows prefabrication off-site to minimize construction impact. Circulation is via elevated walkways to preserve forest floor ecology. Each unit captures rainwater and generates its own solar power.
The timber frame structure uses certified sustainable hardwoods from managed forests. The facades of woven bamboo screens integrate natural ventilation and wildlife-safe lighting. All systems are designed for eventual full decomposition.
